Let me start by telling you that the snare I’m about to review has been my best friend for the past year now on tour, in the practice room and in the recording studio.
It has featured on all of The Soviets latest single releases, and will be on the debut album “You Are Not The End Of The World”.
The thing that I love most of all about this snare drum is the fact I haven’t had to change the drum head once since I was given it (evans g2). There’s absolutely no issues with tuning whatsoever, and very rarely have to get the tuning key out.
I also love the sound that it produces. With hardly any dampening needed, it produces a somewhat high cracking sound with low sustain and great attack. In my eyes it will cater for just about any genre because it deals with any approach in spectacular form.
The reinforcement hoops provide the drum with ultimate protection and security for the hard hitting and heavily gigging drummer.
To conclude, I will also add that throughout my journeys over the past year with this snare, its gained a load of fans itself, and every drummer who’s came to gigs etc. have all said they love it.
It’s definitely “the people’s snare drum!”.
