Resolume Avenue 4 is an instrument for VJs, AV performers and video artists and has much in common with a sequencer like Ableton Live – a perfect, unique visual addition to your live band, DJ, or VJ performance setup.
Resolume Avenue can play multiple layers of full HD without skipping a beat, and can handle multiple live inputs to make it a virtual video mixing desk. If you’re used to Resolume 3 the interface hasn’t changed. Resolume plays Quicktime and AVI video files, PNG and JPEG images, WAV and AIFF audio files, and you can even combine any video or audio file.
Resolume supports both VST audio effects and FreeFrameGL (FFGL) video effects. Use them separately, or combine them to create new audiovisual effects. You can use as many effects as you like on clips, layers, the entire composition, and even as adjustment layers.
Use MIDI from any device or software to control the entire interface – Send MIDI out so your MIDI device will light up buttons or even move motorized faders. For increased precision & flexibility, Resolume can receive OSC (Open Sound Control) messages, which enables you to control Resolume from an iPad or iPhone. PLUS – with the Auto Pilot you can play all clips in any given layer, sequentially or in random order.
With the clip transitions in version 4 you can automatically fade between clips. It’s super nice and easy to use, just set the transition time with the slider on the layer and optionally choose what blend mode or transition you want to use.
It is really easy to get going with the software and in no time you can have a pretty stunning visual setup synced to your music. Full spec and video instruction can be found on Resolume’s website.
