According to Pioneer, the RMX-1000 is an innovative technologically advanced device for enhancing DJ performances with its ability to create and add a variety of new and unique remix effects, as well as rhythmic sampling capabilities. Even without the use of the bundled software, DJs can create some fantastic remix arrangements with the touch of a button (literally).

Image: Pioneer RMX-1000 Remix StationRMX-1000 features 4 effects types, allowing you to add or remove sounds over the whole mix, or just over a specific element (Hi/Mid/Low frequencies). “Scene FX” is the name given to global effects - BPF ECHO, ECHO, NOISE, SPIRAL UP and REVERB UP to add sounds, and HPF ECHO, LPF ECHO, CRUSH ECHO, SPIRAL DOWN and REVERB DOWN to cut sounds (as heard in the video). The result of cutting sounds already printed onto a mix is quite impressive – and gives the opportunity to create staccato or stutter sounds with a mix.

“Isolate FX”, as the name suggests, allows a DJ to affect the Hi, Mid, and Low frequencies independently of one another. The section is loaded with three effects in addition to an Isolator, providing rhythm patterns, timbre, etc., letting users freely modify the output for the HI/MID/LOW frequency bands.

“X-Pad FX” aren’t strictly sound effects, but additional samples which can be added to the original track. The RMX-1000 comes pre-loaded with 4 drum sounds, but your own samples can be added via SD Card. The addition of other effects on top of these sounds can create some very cool unique textures.

Finally, the “Release FX” lever allows you to mute and override the original music input, or remove all effects. Three types of Release FX are available including Vinyl Brake, Echo, and Back Spin.
