Yamaha DXR series

Pioneers of audio engineering innovation since the 60′s, Yamaha have replaced their DSR range speakers with the all-new DXR series. Available in 8″, 10″, 12″, and 15″ LF woofer sizes, the DXR range has been redesigned from the bottom up.

Everything from the detailed management of crossover, EQ and time alignment to the limiter settings, protection functions and precise dynamic control of the sound, was subjected to endless in-house simulation and field-testing, and the new compact Class-D amp modules provide crystal-clear audio reproduction at higher SPLs than anything else in their class.

The DXR Series features a flexible onboard mixer with a variety of input, making it ideal for simple vocal/ instrument amplification. With its flexible IN/OUT, the DXR Series can comprise a full sound reinforcement system, or seamlessly integrate into a setup utilizing DSR or DXS Series speakers.

As far as I can see, the applications for these neat little speakers are wide-reaching – Yamaha say they’re perfect for corporate events and mobile DJ units, but connected to a good desk the system would be equally at home in any pub, club, or function. The dual-angle pole mount socket (0° & 7°) offers superior positioning – especially in low-ceilinged rooms.

Additionally, the DXR12 and DXR15′s enclosure design enables mirror-mode monitor placement that creates a symmetrical sound field for the performer with a larger, more defined “sweet spot”. These speakers are equally at home in FOH sound, monitoring, simple amplification, and speaker rig applications. For true full-range capabilities, you can also add a DXS subwoofer.
